Hey there again!
I know what you must be thinking: why does she keep updating us on her progress? Shouldn’t she be writing?
I know, I know. It’s getting kinda boring. This is the last update until I get my manuscript back from beta readers at the end of August, however. So just hang in there. This will be a quick post. 🙂
So last month I said that I *hoped* I could get the third draft done in time to send off to beta readers by the middle of July. Well guess what . . . I can!
I’m giving myself two more days to finish editing, tweaking, and rearranging. After two days, off it goes! It’s an exciting and scary feeling at the same time. I want to keep moving forward in my edits, and I think having some beta readers look at it will help a whole lot!
Now you must be wondering, “What is she going to do when her manuscript is gone?”
I’m gonna go on vacation! We’re planning to travel up the west coast, hitting all the beautiful national parks on the way! It’s going to be a wonderful trip with so many cool experiences! I’m super excited about it; I think it will be a great time to recharge from my story.
In regards to writing, I will probably be working on some short stories. I have a couple floating around up there that I want to get down on paper. I’m also hoping to journal some more.
Journaling was my go-to creative outlet when I was taking my break from In Wildcat Hollow after finishing the first draft. It is so much more fun than I ever thought! After starting my 2nd and 3rd drafts, however, I kind of ran out of mental and creative energy to journal. So hopefully this helps me have more time and energy to journal!
See, I told you it would be a quick update. 😉
I will be on vacation for the next three weeks, so don’t expect any new posts. I’m going to soak it all in while we’re there and not miss a moment! So anyway, thanks for reading, and see you in less than a month!
