Hey y’all.
So I kept thinking about it over the weekend, and I have officially decided to begin giving my writing advice and tips on this website.
Beginning next week, I will be putting out blog posts about time management, things that help my creativity, websites I’ve found that help me stay organized, blogs that I go to for writing advice, and a bunch of other stuff.
But I don’t want to focus my blog too much on writing because my ideal readers are not writers.
My ideal readers are people who enjoy reading about the ‘old times’ before cell phones, cars, and planes. Back when life was simpler, neater, and fresher.
That is why I am going to also be posting some things that are directly or somewhat related to In Wildcat Hollow. There will be things like ‘how to play this game from the early 20th century’ or ‘how to make paper dolls’ or ‘what life was like in the Ozark mountains’. You get the idea.
You may have also noticed some changes in the theme of my website when you came over here. Like, I don’t know, the name, possibly. The header. The image at the top of the entire website, maybe?
Quit the sarcasm, Ari.
Anyway, my reasoning is, if someone wants to read some of my stories or learn more about me, they will click on my website. After clicking on my website, they need to be able to know that they are in the right spot, however. So, I changed the name, and it is now called ‘Ari D. Original’. The image is now my logo image that you will be seeing other places too. And the header is just a short explanation of who I am and what I’m writing. (Let’s be honest, it’s gonna change soon.) But don’t worry, I’ll still be here posting like normal on Fridays. 🙂
And I’m sure y’all want to hear what I decided about the newsletter.
I have the sign up list right here. Feel free to sign up if you want to receive weekly emails from me with reminders about my post, insider looks at my writing life, and VIP privileges with my WIP (and don’t forget the insider look at the first chapter of In Wildcat Hollow, which is coming soon I promise).
The first newsletter goes out next Monday, May 18, but you will be able to sign up anytime afterwards if you end up seeing this post too late.
Finally, I want to take a moment to thank all of you who continue to return to my blog even though it’s messy and not exactly professional-looking (though I’m working on it). I just want to say thank you; the encouragement and feedback I receive from you all is just amazing.
